I had to think fast to avoid having to have "the talk" at the age of 4 years old, So I told her that Charly (our boy dog), was giving Kelly (our girl dog), a massage. At school she gave a little boy the same kind of 'massage' and she was sent home. I don't know wether to punish her or tell the principal I just lied to my daughter about something so seriouse. (I would never punish my own daughter for something she didn't understand, but I would have to make it clear that that is innaprpriate behavior at school or anywhere! And I don't want her principal to think I am an idiot. Let's remember she is only 4 and she would probably repeat anything I would tell her about sex.)

Definitely talk with the Principal. You dont want to let this little lie raise any eyebrows among her teachers... leading them to feel she's sexually abused at home. That's a whole other discussion you dont want to be having with her!

Search for some ways to talk about sex on a level that is appropriate for your daughter. Its much easier to start talking with her about sex now than when she is older and SHE is just as uncomfortable as you are. Maybe ask the principal or her teacher for some ideas of how to bring up the topic with her.

haha. u shudnt punish here. i think kids are like that telling everyone what they do and what they have and what they see im sure shell forget about it dont make it a big deal.

obviously you have to tell the principal what happened, and straighten out your daughter on the issue of the dogs mating. as for her repeating anything you tell her about sex, as long as it's the honest truth, where is the harm after all, you have to guide your daughter, give her the information and lead her down the path of knowing what is appropriate and what is not. that's your job, mom.

I think you should be at the principal's office door before he is on Monday morning, and you should explain it to both him and your daughter's teacher, right away. There's no excuse for letting your daughter take the blame, or for letting people think she's doing something wrong, when it was your fault.

Besides - these are people who are used to dealing with kids who see and hear things at home, and they will understand it completely.

Set your alarm early tomorrow night, and be there first thing in the morning.
