So Im 19, I am a virgin and I want to have sex with my boy friend with both a condom and the birth control pill. We have been dating for about 2 months now, but have been great friends for a year. I want to make it known to my mom that Im going to have sex and need the pill to do so. I dont want to get it behind her back, since i need a prescription from the doctor, it would just be better that its out in the open. Especially so it wont come as a shock to her later or so I dont have to hide anything from her.

My mom is very open about things and tells me to come to her with anything. So with that in mind, how do I go about talking to her about birth control?? Its so awkward to me and in general to talk about sex.

I remember hearing once when I was younger that if you're not ready to TALK about sex than you're not ready to HAVE sex. So although it may be awkward you should really just be very straight forward. "Mom, so and so and I are really into each other and I think it would be best if I started taking birth control." Just remember that you have to take the pill for a month before it starts working. I recommend Seasonale because it only makes you have you're period 4 times a year. It's so awesome. Good luck!

your 19 years old. a legal adult pretty much you can do anything you want. go have fun with your boyfriend having sex, its life and natural. you mom cant stop you, so go have fun. tell her you want to have sex with your boyfriend and want to be on the pill for it. she might not like it, but its life and she cant control her LEGAL daughter.

wait till your married. then you dont have to worry about any protection.

Easy either don't have sex at all or just ask her to talk to her about sex don't try to beat it around the bush becuase that only makes the conversation go on longer

Legally, since you're 19, you can go and get a prescription without your mother ever being the wiser. However, I understand not wanting to hide things from your mom. My mom and I have always been completely honest with one another, so when I started having sex at 15 I just came right out and told her. I told her that I wanted to be on birth control so I wouldn't end up pregnant, and she understood. Just remember that if it's awkward for you to talk about it, it's going to be just as weird for your mom to hear about you wanting to have sex. But I'm sure that she will appreciate the fact that you want to be safe about it....I know my mom was. I wouldn't beat around the bush when you tell her; I would just be straight up and honest.

Basically,
Just say your period hasn't been normal lately and you barely know when its coming.
The pill can help your period :D so she will probably believe you.
