Am i constipated? or do i only think i am?

so for the past week and a half. i have havent had a normal solid bm. it started out with small pebble like stools, that made up about a small soild bm. then after that i took some dulcolax, and only had diarrhea. i went to the doctor after 3-4 days. and he said to take miralax and a enema. and to eat more fiber. and to also stop eating junk food cause i have a unhealthy eating habit with fastfood/junkfood. so i took the enema, with no luck. and sense i got constipated i stopped eating junk food. i did have one fast food meal. and now its a just over a week and a half with no solid bm. i do go to the bathroom about 2-3 times a day. but only having small pebble like stools. or diarrhea. i dont feel any pain in my abdomen. i sometimes feel slightly bloated. nothing to noticeable. i can also pass gas with ease. is it possible that im not constipated? i only get like this once or twice a year. the thing is i didnt change anything in my lifestyle before this. other then i quit staying up all night and started to go to bed at a normal time. but right now i have a bad cold. and im taking miralax with occasional mineral oil. im also drinking prune and plum juice. why does my constipation always last longer then a week?

Holy Mackerel! Try eating healthier and by all means stop taking all those freakin laxatives. Also find a Gastroenterologist. It sounds like you are suffering from laxative dependency. You need to start eating foods that are naturally high in fiber. Maybe even take a fiber supplement. Also drink lots of water 6 or more glasses and do daily brisk exercises.

What's considered normal frequency for bowel movements varies widely. In general, however, you're probably experiencing constipation if you pass fewer than three stools a week, and your stools are hard and dry. *Mayo Clinic

Eating a high-fiber diet is helpful. (Raisin Bran for breakfast.:) Also what most people forget is exercise can go a long way toward alleviating constipation. Get up and walk and hour a day. It will do wonders.
