Can I still switch my Acura TL's oil to synthetic?

Postby winfield45 » Tue Mar 09, 2010 6:07 pm

I purchased my 2008 Acura TL a few months ago with 26,646 miles on it. I've done two oil changes to the car. It now has 35,540 miles on it. I didn't consider putting synthetic oil in it but I've considered keeping the car a while and want to maintain it well. At 35,540 miles on it would it still make sense to switch to synthetic? I've read you must do it from the beginning for the engine to feel the difference and therefore last longer. Any thoughts, or do I need special type of tool to change the oil myself?

Also if I do change it myself what brand of oil is recommended?

Thanks in advance!

you can switch to synthetic any time.. "Royal purple" is the best synthetic oil but it's a lil pricey... i also recommend mobile1 or Castrol

Yes you can switch to synthetic-can not recommend a brand. My 06 tsx, gets regular oil. It now has 98,000+ problem free miles. I bought this car new 11/06.
