Why is Allah SWT above of having children?

Postby avshai » Wed Apr 24, 2002 10:01 pm

"Or has He only daughters and you have sons?" Qur’an, 52:39

Or, like the polytheist philosophers who ascribed partners to Allah under the name of ‘the ten intellects’ and ‘the masters of the species,’ and the Sabeans, who attributed a sort of godhead to the stars and the angels, do they ascribe offspring to Almighty Allah? Like the heretics and misguided, do they ascribe a son to Him, which is contrary to the necessary existence, unity, eternity, and absolute self-sufficiency of the Single and Eternally Besought One? Do they ascribe femininity to that offspring, which is opposed to the angels’ worship, purity, and kind? Do they suppose it to be an intercessor for them, so that they do not follow you? Generation is the means of multiplying, mutual assistance, perpetuation, and life for creatures like man, who is contingent, transitory, and in need of perpetuating the species, is corporeal and divisible, capable of multiplying, impotent and needy for an heir to help him. So to ascribe offspring -and a sort of offspring that those impotent, contingent, wretched men did not themselves like and could not equate with their arrogant pride, that is, female offspring- to the All-Glorious One, Whose existence is necessary and perpetual, Who endures from pre-eternity to post-eternity, Whose essence is utterly remote from and exalted above corporality, Whose being is free of and exempt from division and multiplication, and Whose Power is far above and beyond all impotence, is indeed such a delirium, such a lunatic raving that the lies and denials of those wretches who subscribe to such an idea are worth nothing.

I think you are absolutely right. Why would Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala need offspring? What purpose would His offspring serve? Allah Almighty is not in need of anyone, rather we need Him. The blasphemies people say about my Lord, Allah Almighty will see to them on the Day of Reckoning. Thankyou for sharing, I really like your work :) You are probably the only few couple of decent people in the Ramadan sect. God bless you.

Peace.

Why is Allah SWT above of having children?

I can't say much about the paragraph. Some parts I can say are right like "do they suppose it to be an intercessor for them" since that much is verified in the Quran but not much else. This concerns the nature of God and I don't know or understand His Being. All that I do know is from the Quran.

Your basic idea - that God is above having offspring - is stated in the Quran. In the Book, it is clearly stated that it is because it does not befit His Majesty. God is unfathomable and there are none like Him, so that may be why we cannot fathom such Majesty.

Quranic verse that states this:

"Such was Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the Truth concerning which they doubt. It does not befit (the Majesty of God) that He should take to Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decrees a thing, He says to it only: Be! and it is. And see! God is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path." Holy Quran 9:34-36

don't take things OUT OF CONTEXT

FROM verse 52:01 till 52:39 all are explaining the unbelievers of gods existance. God says to them

[Shakir 52:35] Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators?
[Shakir 52:36] Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty.
[Shakir 52:37] Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority?
[Shakir 52:38] Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.
[Shakir 52:39] Or has He daughters while you have sons?
[Shakir 52:40] Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt?
[Shakir 52:41] Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down?
[Shakir 52:42] Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war.
[Shakir 52:43] Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him).
[Shakir 52:44] And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say: Piled up clouds.
[Shakir 52:45] Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror):

So this is sarcasm as in DO you think you created the universe do you know what will happen in the future do you think god has daughters & you have sons!!!!

this is sarcasm to the ignorant people. "OR" can't you see it infront of most verses here. Including the daughter son verse!
So why do you decieve & take things out of context.

ITs ignorant people like you who take things OUT OF CONTEXT

He is Almighty. He doesn't need any.
He is the creator of instincts, He doesn't need any.
